Types Of Exercise I Enjoy Suffering Through
All right, who is choosing these Wednesday topics? When forced to choose, the types of exercise I enjoy would fill a very short list! I didn’t grow my bottom to this size by enjoying exercise!
I don’t like the gym, because I’m a bit self-conscious and I have no idea how to use the equipment. I fall down a lot, so running is out. You can do so much more damage to your face when you fall down at speed! Trust me on THAT!
Also, if you fall over while rollerskating, your face—and your glasses—can take a beating! I have first-hand knowledge of this fact!
Walking is about the only thing I’ll embrace, but I need to have a target—I don’t want to walk around the block just for the sake of it. I’m happy to take the dog for a walk. Or walk to the local KFC for a snack! Hahaha! On holiday we tend to find ourselves in places where long walks lead to fun discoveries and in those situations, I’ll walk all day and all night to see the sights.
So, I guess my answer is walking. And if there’s a reward dressed up as cake at the end, all the better!
Now, tell me, fit people reading this, what types of exercise do you enjoy?
This post is part of the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. You can see the list of topics here.

I love your comment about exercising and the size of your butt.. and can SO identify. And if it’s cold, I’m even more inclined to be in and have comfort food. However, there are a few things I can enjoy in the warm weather. Check them out here: http://jhthomas.blogspot.com/2020/02/wednesday-weekly-blogging-challenge_19.html

Comfort food for the win!

Walking is the BEST. Everything else kind of feels like work, doesn’t it?

It sure does. And if I’m going to work hard, I’d really prefer it to be working on a book!
Lydia
I enjoyed reading your post about that walk in Georgetown. It sounds so fun.

Thanks, Lydia. I so miss living in Malaysia. I’d move back there tomorrow, since there was always something new to discover. And all the walking kept me skinny so I could eat my head off!

Walking is a good go to exercise and one I enjoy with my dog and parrot (I have a special back pack for her that allows her to see the sights). Thanks for sharing. Here’s mine. https://www.tenastetler.com/lsrs-wednesdays-blog-challenge-2-19-2020-types-of-exercise-i-enjoy/

OMG! Where can I see a photo of that parrot back pack? I thought they only had those for cats and dogs!

Hahaha… I could likely make an educated guess as to who suggested this topic, but I won’t. 🙂
Although, I feel you. I can’t tell you how many usernames I see while riding my Peloton bike that say things like ‘mamalikestoeat’ or ‘spinfortacos’. So yeah, a reward at the end is a great motivator. 😀

Hahaha. Those usernames are my spirit animals!!! I’m glad I’m not the only one who’d ride if there was a taco reward!

Hey, sometimes you have to have a reward at the end. I don’t just do the 5ks for the sake of doing them. I want the medal at the end. 🙂
Tracey
Ooh, I might be tempted by a medal! They’d have to give one to everyone though. I’d never get over the line first!! Hahaha!

I’m not fond of the gym so much either. Not because I hate exercise or the equipment, though. I don’t much like the atmosphere of most gyms. I’m there to improve myself and people, in my experience, tend to be very judgemental at the gym. Unfortunate, really. I have a few fun exercise things I do embrace that don’t require the gym. 🙂

I think you nailed it, Dixie. I don’t dislike the gym, the hard work or the exercises, I just feel really self-conscious. And I’ve yet to work out how to read a book while almost falling off the treadmill!

Walking is a good and sensible sort of exercise (and honestly it’s most of what I get anymore). Nothing wrong with walking.

As long as there’s a cake at the other end, bring on that walking task!

Loving how you’ve changed the topic slightly. Funny.
Walking is the best. I’m with you about walking when you travel. Walking and getting lost is the best way to explore. You find some amaaaaazing things. And I love it when you walk around you’re own area and discover something that you never would have seen if you were in a car.

The only way to endure the thought of exercise is to make fun of it!

I wish I had an answer. Walking is about all I do these days, and I certainly don’t do it enough if my waistbands are telling me the truth.
Tracey
Baby steps!
Tanith Davenport
I agree with you on walking. I’m hopeless at any other form of exercise.
